Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I purchase the new Gemstone/Disney Comics?
While we offer subscriptions as a service to those who are unable to find our books locally, your local comic book retailer is the perfect place to purchase these books. You can locate the comic book retailer nearest you by using the Comic Shop Locator Service or calling 1-888-COMIC-BOOK.
How much will subscriptions cost?
Subscriptions to our two prestige comic books, Walt Disney's Comics and Stories and Uncle Scrooge, are $83.40 for 12 issues in the US; $90.00 (in US funds) in Canada.
Subscriptions to our two standard comic books, Donald Duck and Friends and Mickey Mouse and Friends, are $35.40 for 12 issues in the US; $40.00 (in US funds) in Canada. Subscriptions for the Take-Along comic book Donald Duck Adventures are $95.40 for 12 issues in the US; $105.00 (in US funds) in Canada. How do I subscribe?
The fastest and easiest way to subscribe is through this web site! If you prefer, you may subscribe by mail, phone or fax:
Gemstone Publishing
Phone: (800) 322-7978 Can I decide which issue to start with?
Unfortunately, we can't accept special requests for your subscription to start with a specific issue. We ship your comic books to you (and your fellow subscribers) as soon as they're ready so that you can enjoy them as soon as possible. The day that a particular comic book is shipped becomes the cutoff date for that issue. Subscribers that sign up after the cutoff date will automatically receive the next issue. The good news is that when you sign up via our web site, your subscription will be processed immediately, and you will receive the very next issue even if it's headed out the door tomorrow.
But don't worry, we would never force you to miss an issue! Back issues for individual purchase are available on this web site, or you could visit your local comic shop to pick up the ones you missed. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding our policies. Will Gemstone be honoring the remainder of my old Gladstone subscription?
Gemstone will honor the remaining issues of previous subscribers. In order to verify your remaining subscription information, please contact Jamie David at djamie@gemstonepub.com with both your current mailing address, as well as your old mailing address (even if it has not changed). This must be done prior to books being received. This transition will take some time to complete. We appreciate your patience and hope to have the subscriptions initiated by September 2003. Alternatively, you may purchase a new subscription now and we will extend your subscription by the appropriate number of issues when all information has been processed.
May I submit artwork or stories for future Disney comics?
At present, we have an enormous backlog of material to present to the North American readership. Thus, it will be some time before we will be looking to commission new stories. However, if you would like to submit material for our eventual review, you may mail it to:
Gemstone Publishing/Disney Comics Our requirements are character-specific, so please confine submissions to material relating to Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Uncle Scrooge, and their supporting casts. If you submit art, send photocopies only. DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL ART, as we are unable to return it. Do not submit via e-mail attachments and/or ftp downloads without prior arrangement with the Gemstone Publishing/Disney Comics staff. Any material submitted by these methods without such prior arrangement will be deleted unread. Any and all submissions will be on a strictly speculative basis. Gemstone Publishing assumes no responsibility for the handling and disposition of the material, nor do we assume any obligation to provide a response or notice of receipt, now or in the future.
